Maria, the wife of a struggling painter, supports him. Her friend and buyer, Ueda, who came to visit the studio, is about to meet the renowned painter, Ozawa. Her husband, who deeply admires Ozawa, is also invited, and Maria agrees to go along. Ten years ago, Ozawa had been working on a piece featuring Maria as the model, but he abandoned it unfinished after she left him. Now, facing this incomplete masterpiece, Ueda suggests that Maria pose for him again...
